Thanks to Florence Pugh's "Edgy, Fearless Style," She Booked a Beauty Gig

Florence Pugh is ready for her close-up as Valentino Beauty's new ambassador.
"@valentino.beauty and I joined forces and I couldn't be prouder," the Don't Worry Darling actress captioned her May 21 Instagram post. "Embracing the bold and embracing the bright."
The Dune star couldn't have been more spot-on about how to celebrate audaciousness. After all, Florence's "edgy, fearless style" is what sealed the deal on their partnership, according to the luxury brand.
"She is known for her cool, colorful, creative, expressive, confident, inclusive and diverse talent," a statement read from Valentino Beauty. "Florence is authentic, true to herself and natural, at the same time as she is truly unique and has the ability to transform herself, showing many multifaceted ways of being her. This is the very core of the Valentino Beauty philosophy, which makes Florence an ideal ambassador for the brand."
Another appealing trait? The brand not only stands by the 27-year-old's activism but champions it.
"Florence has publicly spoken about feminism," Valentino Beauty's statement continued, "stood up against body shaming and shared her views on respecting diversity—not only respect for women but respect for everyone."
In fact, Florence fiercely defended the completely see-through gown she wore to the Valentino Haute Couture show after the bold look sparked criticism.
"Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn't be a commentary on it," she wrote on Instagram last July. "Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing."
The Oscar nominee said she was even excited to rock the nipple-baring look.
"What's been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman's body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see," she continued her post. "It isn't the first time and certainly won't be the last time a woman will hear what's wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what's worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be."
She's not only proud of her flaws but has also become in tune with the intricacies of her body.
"Grow up," she added. "Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise."
